Dell Alienware Joins LoL Esports as Official PC & Display Partner
We are happy to announce a new multi-year partnership with Dell Alienware.
Today we are happy to announce a new multi-year partnership with Dell Alienware. This partnership will see Alienware become the Official Competition PC and display partner for the League of Legends Championship Series (LCS) in North America, the League of Legends European Championship (LEC), and four major international competitions: the Mid-Season Invitational, North America vs Europe Rift Rivals, the All-Star Event, and the pinnacle of esports competitions, the League of Legends World Championship.
“We’ve been continually impressed with Alienware’s unwavering commitment to elevating the gaming and esports experience through their focus on product performance, function, and design,” said Naz Aletaha, Riot Games Head of Esports Partnerships. “As our official PC and display partner, Dell and Alienware, with their extensive expertise in hardware and technology services, will help us continue to level up the sport — setting a global performance standard for the hardware that powers it.”
As a part of this partnership, Alienware will deploy a massive fleet of Aurora R8 computers and 240Hz monitors across the globe, delivering a consistent playing experience for teams and players in a manner similar to how traditional sports have standardized equipment for competitive play. The displays will introduce a new caliber of visual performance and feedback to professional players by improving the screen refresh rate, giving players smoother gameplay to process and decide their next move. Each Alienware PC setup within the fleet will also leverage SupportAssist, Dell’s diagnostic tool, which will detect and prevent technical issues before they have a chance to critically impact a match. All of this will ensure that the best professional players in the world, competing in the largest esport in the world, have the absolute best technology powering their competitions. Additionally, esports fans can look forward to new activations, VIP seating, and other exciting surprises geared towards celebrating the League of Legends community, which Dell, Alienware, and Riot Games will work to introduce throughout the season.
“Both Alienware and Riot Games have approached esports with similar goals of purposeful innovation,” said Bryan de Zayas, Director of Marketing & Esports. “Our shared commitment to develop technological breakthroughs that service the esports community made this partnership a natural fit and I’m excited to showcase what is to come.”
The 2018 League of Legends competitive season begins in January, with the first LEC match taking place on January 18th and the first LCS match on January 26th.
