Competitive Ruling: Gleb “Spodërmen” Nakarikov

Nakarikov has violated rules 7.1.3 and 7.1.4 of the College Season ruleset.

TL;DR

  • Before the season started, York University player Gleb “Spodërmen” Nakarikov was given a preseason behavior warning for his behavior in solo queue, not related to the College LoL Season.
  • On 2/11, Nakarikov had a verbal altercation with an opposing College Season team during a scrim
  • On 2/13, Nakarikov intentionally fed in a solo queue game when he was matched with a player from that team after they argued during champion select, for which he received a formal warning from College Season officials on the same day
  • On 2/16, Nakarikov verbally attacked an opposing team during a scrim
  • Spodërmen is being issued a 1-game suspension for a repeated instance of inappropriate conduct to College Season teams.

CONTEXT

As part of our normal pre-season behavior screening, York University was given a formal behavior warning about Nakarikov’s behavior in solo queue.  While his behavior was not at the point that would prevent him from being added to a College Season roster, his manager was informed that he was at risk of facing punishment if his behavior did not improve.

On February 11, York University had a team-scheduled scrim against another College Season team.  There was miscommunication about which champions should be left open, which led to some arguments that eventually escalated to Nakarikov insulting the opposing team.  The team reported the behavior to College Season officials.

Two days later, Nakarikov was matched with one of the players from the opposing team from the scrim.  The player banned a champion Nakarikov intended to play, so Nakarikov responded by locking Jungle Veigar and sending a series of inappropriate insults towards the player and his team.  College Season officials reached out to both parties to understand the situation, and eventually gave Nakarikov a formal warning for his behavior, but decided against a suspension due to the opinion that the arguments were somewhat mutual.

Three days later, on February 16, York University had another team-scheduled scrim against another College Season team.  Midway through the scrim, Nakarikov disrupted the game by repeatedly insulting the opposing team.

College Season players are expected to maintain good behavior in and out of game, especially when engaging in activities as part of their team.  Furthermore, Nakarikov had a repeated violation of these rules within three days of a direct conversation with College Season officials about his behavior.
