2016 IWC All-Star Event Barcelona

This year we’ll be bringing the 2016 IWC All-Star closer to the 2016 All-Star Event that’s heading to Barcelona, Spain and it will be taking place a week before on December 1-4.

The 2016 competitive season is almost coming to an end, but not before we close out the year with a bang! This year we’ll be bringing the 2016 IWC All-Star closer to the 2016 All-Star Event that’s heading to Barcelona, Spain and it will be taking place a week before on December 1-4.

We’ll be getting ready to turn up the heat and dodge the snowballs with All-Star champions from each Wildcard region battling it out in Fire and Ice style! Fans will vote for players to represent their regions in BR, CIS, JP, LAN, LAS, OCE, SEA and TUR who will form 8 All-Star teams that will then be divided into Team Ice and Team Fire. Voting will take place from October 24, with dates varying by region. It’s up to you to decide which of your favourite pros will join together to form your All-Star teams, so make sure to check your local esports page for more information regarding the exact dates and get your votes in!

Teams will battle it out across the tournament through a variety of different game modes.

The winning regional IWC All-Star team at the end of the tournament will qualify to be a part of the 2016 All-Star Event on December 8-11.

By combining the IWCA and ASE into a 2-week event, we’ll be bringing regions together to form a huge All-Star celebration and really focus on the competition and potential upsets from Albus NoX Luna and INTZ players as well as others (if we’ve learned anything from Worlds this year!). By doing this, we did not want IWCA teams to endure last minute international travel from one event to the other, so we made the decision to hold both events in Barcelona. As the event isn’t taking place in an IWC region, we felt we wouldn’t be able to offer the same type of viewing experience to fans inside the venue that they’ve come to expect with other IWCA events, so there won’t be live attendance for IWCA this year.

Stay tuned to your local esports page for more information about IWCA and make sure to vote for your All-Star dream team!
