The uLoL Campus Series Finals are happening this weekend live from PAX East!
The top four teams in the country arrived at PAX East this weekend primed and ready to throw down on the Rift. Only two teams remain, with the finals coming to you live this Sunday! Here are a few things we learned today during the semifinals:
UBC’s back in proper form
After a rough time in the uLoL playoffs, narrowly scraping by a victory against Simon Fraser University, UBC looks to be back in proper form and not a moment too soon. Though they initially had some trouble closing out the games against Georgia Tech UBC swept the the series with a solid 3-0.
RMU is playing for keeps
Though a back-to-back nexus rush from both teams may have rattled RMU early on in the semifinals, they doubled down and look to be in prime condition to take on UBC in tomorrow’s finals. The cold and calculated aggression from RMU dominated Maryland, who are by no means a weak team, and sent them home in a 3-0 sweep.
Georgia Tech doesn’t go down without a fight
Georgia Tech may be out of the finals, but they fought UBC tooth and nail for every single game. Not once did Georgia relent or let UBC have an easy win. Though they may be knocked out, they’re still an incredibly strong team with a lot going right for them! The future looks bright for Georgia Tech.
Keep an eye on Maryland
Maryland was a sleeper team throughout the entire uLoL Campus Series. A team full of Freshman that should be “easy” for most larger teams to crush. Little did they know this team packs a serious punch, especially if the opponent didn’t realize most of the team are HSL (High School Starleague) champions!
Maryland is definitely the team to watch in the coming years, their plays are crisp and they can already hold their own against the strongest in the Campus Series.
uLoL Finals
The two strongest uLoL teams in North America, UBC and RMU, will be facing off in the uLoL Finals live from PAX East! UBC will try to retain their crown while RMU tries to get revenge for last year!
The uLoL Campus Series finals go live Sunday, April 24th starting at 12:00 PM EDT (9:00 AM PDT). You can watch live at PAX East or over on watch.lolesports.com.
